Dear Raystar News Reader,

In this issue we will release two important notices relevant to Epson IC and Sunplus IC. Epson will phase out some STN ICs and change some ICs to different wafer production plants as well as change packaging materials of chip products. Besides, Sunplus announced that they would pause production some STN ICs due to the capacity limited.

These changes made by suppliers will also affect our Raystar products and so we have to make some actions as follows. We feel sorry that these changes might cause your extra works. But we will try our best to provide best solutions for our customers.

Epson ICs Transferred Production Plant

Epson decided to change some ICs to different wafer production plants or change molding shipping tray. Raystar products which are affected by these ICs are listed as follows. Raystar will evaluate the new packing assembly ICs once we get them in coming months and release our test results soon.

The below list is the affected Epson IC relevant Raystar LCM for reference.

Some Epson ICs will be phased out, but the Raystar existing LCD modules won’t be effected. Therefore, our customers don’t need to worry about the changes and here we don’t list the terminated Epson ICs.

Orisetech Paused to Accept STN IC Orders

Sunplus (Orisetech Technology Co.) made a decision to pause accept STN IC orders around six months due to the limited production capacity provided by their wafer companies. The actual date that they start to accept orders will be announced by Orisetech. Actually, the affected Sunplus IC used on Raystar Products is only one which is listed as below:
